The Pentek SCBC-10 is a silver-impregnated, antimicrobial carbon block cartridge designed to inhibit biofilm and microbial buildup that can shorten filter life. Highly effective at reducing unwanted taste & odor and chlorine taste & odor from potable drinking water, the SCBC-10 is built to stay hygienic longer than standard carbon cartridges thanks to its bacteriostatic silver treatment, which slows bacterial growth within the filter media bed.
The cartridge is protected by an integrated pre-filter that traps sediment before it reaches the carbon block - a common cause of premature plugging in standard carbon cartridges. This design significantly extends useful cartridge life while maintaining strong contact time with the carbon media, allowing the SCBC-10 to capture a wide range of contaminants including chlorine, pesticides, cysts (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), organics, sediment, dirt, rust, and other particulates down to 0.5 microns.
The SCBC-10 fits all standard 10" x 2.5" undersink and countertop filter housings, making it a versatile choice for residential, food service, commercial, and industrial drinking water applications.
