The Pentek RFC Series delivers whole house chlorine taste and odor reduction with minimal pressure loss. Built with a bed of granular activated carbon (GAC) sandwiched between a durable spun polypropylene core and a 70-micron porous polyethylene outer shell, both cartridges in the series use a radial flow design that channels water evenly through the full carbon bed — delivering the benefits of GAC filtration in a high-flow, point-of-entry format.
This radial flow construction significantly reduces the carbon fines commonly released by conventional GAC- cartridges, meaning cleaner-running water without the black carbon dust often seen after installing standard granular carbon filters. Both models are tested and certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements, and pair well as a carbon stage alongside sediment or iron-reduction pre-filters in a multi-stage whole house system.
