The Pentek EPM Series is a modified, economically priced version of Pentek's EP Series carbon block cartridges, engineered to deliver reliable taste, odor, and chlorine taste and odor reduction alongside sediment filtration. Manufactured using a patented high-porosity process, EPM Series cartridges achieve a nominal 10-micron filtration rating while preventing premature plugging before the carbon's adsorption capacity is exhausted — maximizing carbon utilization while maintaining low pressure drop.
Every EPM cartridge is protected by Endurawrap, a uniquely formulated polyolefin bilaminate pre-filter that traps sediment before it can plug the carbon block, significantly extending useful cartridge life. This combination of high porosity carbon and outer sediment protection gives the EPM Series some of the highest carbon block dirt-holding capacity in its class, for maximum service life at an economical price point.
Available in standard and Big Blue formats from 10" to 20" in length, the EPM Series scales from point-of-use under-sink systems to whole house filtration. All EPM cartridges are manufactured entirely from FDA-compliant materials, making them an ideal choice for residential, food service, commercial, and industrial applications. Select the model below that matches your housing size.
Media: Bonded PAC (powdered activated carbon)
Pre-filter: Endurawrap (polyolefin bilaminate) — traps sediment, extends cartridge life
Endcaps: Polypropylene
Outer Wrap: Polyolefin
Netting: Polyethylene
Gaskets: Buna-N
Temp Rating: 40°F–180°F (4.4°C–82.2°C)
Construction: FDA-compliant materials
Certification: Tested/certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 (material requirements only)
Note: For greater chlorine taste & odor reduction, the standard EP Series is recommended over EPM
