Built for standard 20" Big Blue filter housings, this cartridge combines two filtration stages in one: a 50-micron nominal outer wrap for pre-filtration and a 5-micron nominal inner core for fine final filtration — eliminating the need for a separate step-down filtration system in your home.

Made from 100% pure polypropylene, the DGD-5005-20 delivers up to three times the dirt-holding capacity of standard spun or string-wound cartridges of the same size, making it ideal for surface water, well water, and other high-sediment-load applications. The polypropylene construction is highly resistant to chemicals and bacteria, and won't impart any taste, color, or odor to filtered water.

The dual-gradient design lets water pass through progressively finer layers, capturing sand, silt, rust, and scale particles while maintaining strong flow rates and long filter life — with an initial pressure drop of less than 1 PSI at 20 GPM. It's a direct-fit replacement for Pentek, 3M/Cuno, Culligan, Filterite, Harmsco, Keystone Filter, Watts, and most other heavy duty Big Blue housings, and is well-suited for residential, rural, commercial, or municipal water systems.
