The Pentek CC Series is a coconut shell-based granular activated carbon (GAC) cartridge engineered to deliver exceptional taste and quality in drinking water. Unlike standard GAC cartridges, coconut shell carbon offers superior VOC (volatile organic compound) reduction, along with effective reduction of unwanted chlorine taste & odor and MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether).
Water enters one end of the cartridge and passes through the full length of the carbon bed before exiting, maximizing contact time between water and carbon media for thorough filtration. An internal expansion pad minimizes channeling and bypass, ensuring consistent performance throughout the cartridge's service life, while a post-filter reduces carbon fines from reaching the outlet water.
The CC Series is a drop-in replacement for standard 10" x 2.5" under-sink and drinking water system housings, making it a versatile upgrade option for residential, food service, commercial, and industrial applications where superior taste and VOC reduction matter.
